Work in progress

This section allows a constant communication and sharing of information among the project partners as far as the activities for the different intellectual outputs are concerned. Each project partner upload this section of a three months basis.

Partners' Institution:

Instituto Politécnico de Bragança

Project's period (from/to):

01 January 2022 - 31 December 2023

Activity concerned:

PM - Project Management

Objectives of activities carried out:

Objectives of activities carried out:

The project management is carried out throughout the project period and ensures the correct development of the project activities and the achievements of the expected results.
Main activities:
- Scientific Coordination of the activities
- Dissemination
- Exploitation

Coordination of the activities
It includes:
• Planning the scientific activities of the project for the 2 years project life
• Participation in transnational meetings of the steering committee
• Creation of contents to be updated in the project website

Dissemination
It includes:
- Making the iMath Portal accessible to the largest possible number of lecturers, researchers and students in higher education.
- Sharing the iMath Portal and the results of the iMath project with the highest number of operators in the field of education
- Sharing the iMath Portal and the results of the iMath project with the highest number of citizens
- Spreading the iMath activities and results on the most popular Social Network

In the framework IPB has to carry out the following activities:
- Creation, with Pixel, of the forms to be used by the partnerships
- Creation of the Project brochure in English, to be translated by partners in National languages
- Dissemination activities
- Developing the IO

Sustainability
• Promote the Portal through the exchange links with Portals addressing similar issues (e.g. Portals providing educational materials for lecturers; portals on education etc.)
• Promote the among public authorities and key policy makers in order to gain institutional consensus and promoting the insertion of project results in policies for Education.
• Involve new members as associated partners

Description of activities carried out:

IPB participated in the kickoff partners' meeting, which was held online.
Creation of the brochures in English and Portuguese language.
IPB Team uploaded the reviews of scientific publications, algorithms, benchmarks, and students’ learning indicators to the math portal

After 1 August 2022

Send the MathE database to partners using GitHub + definitions to develop OptLearn Algorithm.
Send an example, to all the partners, of a database with students' correct answers to get students' recommendations.
Developing the concept idea to verify the feasibility from the coding point of view.
Preparation of the material of one topic of mathe to send to UniGe to develop the prototype.
Identification of students to test the prototype.
Send UniGenova the three questions to be asked at the end of each test.
Share with the partners the link to the Google Form to collect the historical data of the students participating in the prototype testing.
Developing a student survey and applying it during 2022 and ask the identified students to fill in the Google Form with their historical data.
IPB tests the prototype with students to collect data as MathE works

IPB has developed 3 different prototype algorithms and tested them with Portuguese students - the third was developed jointly with the Italian team.
IPB students have participated in testing the algorithms of the other consortium partners.

IPB has developed and uploaded its own OptLearn algorithm to the GitHub platform.

Results Achieved:

IPB participated in the kick-off partners' meeting, which was held online.
The forms were disseminated by all the partners to be filled.
The Portuguese brochure was created.

Database of at least ten reviews of scientific publications uploaded by the IPB team
Database of at least five algorithms uploaded by the IPB team
Database of at least five benchmarks uploaded by the IPB team

IPB participated in the Patras partners' meeting.

Database of at least three students’ learning indicators uploaded by the IPB team.
Identifying the mapping of keywords and questions of a given topic(matrices and determinants, Expressions and Equations, and Set Theory).
A student survey was obtained.
IPB identified at least five students to test the application implemented by UniGE (this phase aims to collect data as the MathE portal does; this will allow comparing the current situation with the future one when the algorithms will be implemented).
Twenty-five students answered the survey.
Twenty-three students test the prototype.
The imath prototype is under consideration..

IPB team developed 3 strategies for the OptLearn algorithm. Portuguese students tested all of them.
The third strategy was tested by the students obtained through the consortium and has been developed together with the Italian team.
IPB team also developed a strategy to analyze the previously defined learning indicators to support the prototype's comparison.

IPB has uploaded its OptLearn code to the GitHub platform, the technical report and the read.me file.
Also, IPB elaborates 8 Tips to add to the iMath platform and one applet (appletkmeans.py).

IPB has carried out fifty disseminations until the moment.
